Ninja Selling Relationship Status
Stop Marketing to Everyone the Same Way
Not every contact in your database deserves the same effort — and Ninja Selling’s relationship status framework knows it. Some people are actively sending you referrals. Others barely know you yet. If your database can’t tell the difference, neither can your marketing.
Pulse Point HQ builds relationship status into every contact record, so your time, your flow, and your budget go exactly where you intend.
Get every contact in your database assigned the relationship status it deserves.
Auto flow (postcards and emails) plus live flow, like Pop-Bys and personal touches, sent to exactly the right people, automatically.
What Is Relationship Status in Ninja Selling?
Ninja Selling teaches agents to sort their database using a relationship status system: A’s, B’s, C’s, and D’s. Your A’s are your biggest advocates, they refer you proactively, without being asked. Your B’s are your fans, they’ll refer you when asked, but aren’t quite as proactive. Your C’s know, like, and trust you, but haven’t referred anyone yet. And your D’s are the people you’re still working to build a relationship with.
Relationship status isn’t just a label, it sets your flow frequency. Every A, B, and C receives the same baseline three auto flow touches a month, but live flow scales with the relationship. A’s get the most attention, calls, cards, gifts, and event invitations, averaging close to a live touch a week, around 50 a year. C’s get far less, typically one live interaction a quarter. New D’s start on an 8×8 sequence, working up to a phone call and a face-to-face meeting, and graduate to C status once that’s complete.
Assigning relationship status to every contact isn’t just an organizational nicety, it’s what tells you exactly how much time, attention, and budget each relationship has earned.
The Problem: Skipping Relationship Status
When you don’t assign relationship status, one of two things happens — and neither is good for business. You under-market to the people who actually refer you, giving them the same handful of touches as everyone else. Or you over-invest, spending marketing dollars and personal time on contacts who were never going to refer you at all.
Ninja Selling treats this as a business decision: the people who send you referrals should get more of your time and marketing dollars, not the same treatment as everyone else. So why does it get skipped?
Sometimes the system is the problem — no real way to assign relationship status, or no way to segment those contacts apart from the rest of the database.
Sometimes it just never gets done. Either way, your best relationships end up treated like every other contact.
